August 2015

Ya'll...the countdown to Fall is on. Kids are back in school, the temperature seems to be winding down (for now), which means Fall is on its way. Pretty soon the leaves will be changing, the scarves and sweaters will come out of hiding, and I must admit I am pretty darn excited!! :)

Anyway, enough about Fall! I have to rave about our trip to Kansas City!

Nathan and I headed up to Kansas City the first week of August to spend time with his rents! It's always a blast when we can make it up there. We really got to do a lot since we were able to be in town for longer than a couple days. Here are just a few highlights from our trip:

One day, we went to check out a nearby town - Weston, MO

A Polish Pottery shop - they had the most beautiful pottery and decor! I especially loved their flowers!!

Another one of our favorites in Weston, is O'Malley's Pub! It was early in the day, so we had lunch at the Weston Brewing Company Restaurant next door.

One of the many highlights of our trip, was going to see the comedian, JIM GAFFIGAN!!! He is my favorite comedian, and it was awesome to see him live!

Enjoying the beautiful weather & venue (Starlight Theatre) & all ready for Jim Gaffigan!

So, if you didn't know that I love Indian food, you do now. :) Swagat is my favorite Indian Restaurant that I have ever been to! Swagat is located in a shopping area called Zona Rosa. Whenever we have the chance to go to Kansas City, we always try to hit up Swagat.
If you are there, check them out: http://swagatkc.com/
You will not be disappointed!

Apparently, all I'm about is food. While we were downtown at the Plaza, I looked up places for French Macarons. Macarons are my favorite dessert, and they can be difficult to find (especially in TN). I was pleasantly surprised when I found NATASHA'S MULBERRY & MOTT.
They had a huge selection of Macarons. Not only were they beautiful, but they were the most delicious Macarons I have ever had. The flavors ranged from chocolate covered potato chip, to grape soda!! I chose birthday cake, peach, cherry-vanilla, and a pistachio chocolate (not shown, cause I ate it).  :p

While we all were downtown at the Plaza, we saw the latest Mission Impossible movie. However, the movie theater we went to has a VIP section! The VIP section has luxurious recliner seats, as well as little tables to hold your food & drinks. You can even purchase wine (which we did). It had limited seating so it wasn't crowded at all. Oh, there were also NO previews before the movie started!! It was pretty fancy! :)

On our last day in town, Nathan's parents continued to spoil us by taking us to a Royals game! Look how close we are to the field!! This was my first game, and it was everything I dreamed it would be! The guy sitting in front of us even caught a baseball! I cannot wait to go back & hopefully go again! Maybe it will be our new tradition to go to a game whenever we come visit ;)

We had such an amazing time, and as usual, it went by way too fast. I'm looking forward to our next trip!
