Bananas are the new "it" food. They are a great healthy alternative to use and you can use them to make so many delicious recipes! My two current favorite recipes are banana milkshakes and banana pancakes.
For my banana milkshake, I combine:
1 frozen (sliced) banana
2 tablespoons of PB2 (powdered peanut butter)
1/4 cup of almond milk
Blend all ingredients in the blender! Of course you can alter this recipe by adding more or less of each ingredient. Also, there is a chocolate PB2 that you can purchase and that is just as delicious!
The banana milkshake is tasty and curbs my cravings for ice-cream!
For the banana pancakes, I've been altering my recipes each time I make them. Today, however, they turned out perfect and fluffy! I blended:
2 bananas
4 egg whites
2.5 tablespoons of PB2
1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed
I preheated the griddle to 350 degrees while I blended all the ingredients together. Once the griddle was ready to go, I poured the mixture on, let them cook till I saw bubbles, then flipped them over to cook the other side. They turned out amazing!
Ta Da!
The next time I'm going to use the chocolate PB2 and add some dark chocolate baking chips (or maybe peanut butter chips) ;p Doesn't that sound extremely decadent?
