Be a Shark

Hahahaha!!
This is not just hilarious, it also motivates me! Make every single day a Monday, and...
BE A SHARK!

Ok, I'm going outside of my comfort zone and sharing a LOT with y'all, so please be kind! I began my weight loss/healthy lifestyle journey on February 1st. By completing the first 6 days in a Eat Clean Challenge, I lost 7.2 lbs. Since then, I haven't been weighing myself - I have been focusing on how I'm feeling.
I've been sharing my shake recipes, but haven't showed you guys any real results - UNTIL NOW.

These are my before and present progress pictures:

BEFORE PICS:

Obviously, not happy.

PROGRESS PICS:

I mostly have been replacing at least one meal per day with a Herbalife shake, and taking Herbalife Cell-U-Loss tablets (3 x day - with each meal). The next 6 Day Eat Clean Challenge begins March 1st, so I'll go back to having two Herbalife shakes a day along with one healthy regular meal, two snacks, and a ton of water!
I haven't been going to the gym as often as I would like - if I could - I would go every single day! Alas, my fibromyalgia has different plans. I'm still doing it though! It's not a phase or a diet - it's my new lifestyle!
However, instead of only doing a little bit of cardio at the gym, I was able to do some strength training AND cardio today! Woohoo!!
I still have quite a ways to go in every aspect - weight loss, be more fit, be stronger; but I'm working my way there, no matter how slow it goes! AND, I'm lighter than before, stronger than before, and fitter than before I started this journey! 💪🏼

I look forward to sharing more of my journey with y'all!

Fresh Fruit Juice

I received a Breville juicer for Christmas! I've been really excited to use it, but since I have been sick, I haven't had the chance. Finally, this morning I felt much better, so I decided to make Nathan and I some fresh fruit juice for breakfast. I chose the pineapple, pear, and peach juice recipe. I used 1 small pineapple, 2 pears, and 2 small peaches. This recipe made two servings.

I made sure to cut up the fruit to make it easier on the juicer:

I was super impressed with how quickly and efficiently the juicer broke down the fruit and poured out all the juice!

Nathan and I both were pleasantly surprised how delicious the juice turned out. It is wonderful to have fresh juice without any added sugar, preservatives, chemicals, etc.! I look forward to trying out more recipes! :)

Do you make your own juice? What are some of your favorite recipes?

I Work(ed) Out!!

Today was my first time working out at National Fitness Signature Club! I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked, but I can go back anytime I want :) After work and running errands, I ran home to change into some work out clothes and headed on over to the gym.

All ready to go scan in with my key fob!

I checked out the ladies only section first. The view was great and added a calming presence to the room. This was my view while I was on one of the bike machines:

After checking out the ladies only section, I ventured upstairs to the movie theater! I've been really excited about this feature at the club. I walked in to a dim light room with a huge screen display - exactly like a real movie theater! Instead of stadium seats, they have a huge selection of cardio equipment! The movie showing today was Sherlock Holmes! I went with the glider machine first because I thought it would be a good work out to keep me fit for hiking! I had the resistance set to 20 and spent about 17 minutes on there. Mind you, I haven't worked out in forever, so I didn't want to over do it! After the glider, I went with the traditional treadmill. I set the incline at 4 and walked a nice slow pace to calm my body from the glider machine work out. The movie certainly kept my attention, and before I knew it, I had already been in there 45 minutes! The movie is such a wonderful distraction.

After working out and before heading out the door, I added some E-Cred (a/k/a e-credit) to my account. E-Cred is awesome because you can put as much money as you want onto your account, so when you want to buy a drink, smoothie, snack, or some apparel, you don't have to dig out your credit card or cash. It's great not having to worry about losing my wallet or having the hassle of digging it out of my bag from my locker. I picked up a couple of Quest Bars - everyone raves about them! I decided to go with the chocolate chip cookie dough and the cookies and cream. I haven't tried them yet! I'm waiting for the moment that I'm craving something sweet. I'll let you know what I think once I've tried them out!
Nom, nom, nom! ;p

So there you have my first (quick) experience working out at the gym! :)
Maybe I'll convince one of you to come check it out!
